THE RESCUE OF THEATER ANGELA PERALTA

The rescue of the building of the Theater Ángela Peralta, that by several lustrums was in the abandonment, was headed by the City council of Mazatlán and the group "Friends of the Theater Angela Peralta, A.C.". With the support of the society and diverse state and federal instances, they occurred to the task of removing from the ruin to the building located in the street Carnival and Constitution, in the heart of the historical center of the city. The Architect Juan Jose Leon Loya, mazatleco and member of this civil association, was the specialist who designed the project that reviviría the enclosure.

The remodelings initiated in 1987, concluding five years later. By the quality of its proposal and the viable thing of the project (that teminó being crystallized in 1992), Loya was awarded by the Federation of Architects of the Mexican Republic in the Second Biennial of Architecture.
