MUNICIPAL SCHOOL OF MUSIC“ENRIQUE PATRON DE RUEDA”

School music “Maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda was constituted in the beginnings of the Municipal Center of the Arts, in 1989, to take care of the musical education in all its extension and depth.

Besides to offer an answer to the enormous necessity of artistic education of Mazatlán, the school forms students with a profile that allows them to enter to anyone of distributed the professional schools of musical education in other states of the republic. It generates thus opportunities for the development of the young people within the musical scope, forming instructors of musical education of excellent level.

Goals

The base objective is to professionalize to the young people involved with music, being supplied the mean level. The intention of this project is to present/display a true option to elevate the cultural level of the mazatlecos, of way so that it gets to be a solid alternative for the young people, of utility to approach its problematic from two delimited fields affluent one:

1. Formation of instructors who will be enabled to give classes of musical education of levels basic, average basic and average superior according to the level of deepening of the programmatic contents.
2. The promotion of the artistic education and the development of activities of this nature in the familiar sine.

This educative project aspires to collaborate jointly with the family in integral the cultural formation, the individual and social development of the student, besides to satisfy the necessity that has the population to transmit, to conserve and to increase the cultural patrimony of the humanity and to elevate its level within the community.

It is tried to respond to the educative necessities that widely Mazatlán requires in the scope of music, and at the same time, within the evolution of the educative activity, to develop cultural activities. The effort to spread to the taste by good music and its appreciation at social level will be united to the one of all the educative institutions.

Title: Professional technician in Music
Duration: 3 years (distributed in approximately 161 hours. 232 credits)
Classes in vespertine sessions, of four to six hours daily.
The school counts on diverse musical groups. In addition it is taken care of of individual form students of popular guitar, classic guitar and piano.

Permanence Requirements

To fulfill the work exigencies.
To credit one of the matters of the curriculum with a minimum qualification of 6.
To be a regular student. If one of the students were in situation of irregularity by not to have credited some of the courses or seminaries of the curriculum it will have the opportunity to regularize itself according to the stipulated thing in the general regulation of the examination.

The graduate ones from the School of Music will be able of:
1. To continue with its musical education at superior level.
2. To give classes of musical education of general way.
3. To work like musician specialized in an instrument, with the possibility of integrating itself to musical groupings.
4. To transmit the musical knowledge of systematized way and with the suitable methodology, base in the acquired knowledge of the pedagogical area.
5. To compose and to make musical adjustments simple.
6. To form and to direct scholastic musical groups.
7. To handle the cultural diffusion to scholastic level. The withdrawn one will have the musical and pedagogical knowledge that allow him to integrate themselves to an educative institution of basic and/or average level like instructor in the music area.
