Sixth class of contemporary dancers graduates

 · The group's final gesture will be a dance performance withfour new choreographies

Mazatlan's Professional School of the Dance.A dozen dancers are graduating Saturday from Mazatlan's Professional School of the Dance. To mark this important event they have prepared adance performance for 8:00 p.m. that evening in the Angela Peralta Theater.

After four years of professional academic training, these youngsterswho come from various parts of Mexico and abroad as well as from Mazatlan will crystalize their efforts as they receive their degreesas Licenciaturas in Contemporary Dance.

 Technically prepared with an emphasis on the post-modern style, thedancers will enter the artistic world with the capacity to beteachers, interpreters or choreographers and may form their own dancecompanies as some of the graduates are planning to do.

As a group all the students in this, the sixth group of graduates,will appear in original choreographies created by Victor Ruiz, OmarCarrum, Mijail Rojas and Vladimir Rodriguez. They were created especially for this occasion to give the graduates the chance to showoff the techniques and knowledge obtained during their years of study.

Ruiz and Carrum are members of the internationally renowned company Delfos Danza Contemporanea and also serve as teachers at the school, which is part of the Municipal Center for the Arts. Vladimir Rodriguez is a Colombian choreographer who conducted a workshop at the schoolduring the month of May while Mijail Rojas is a dancer-choreographer who graduated from the National School of Art in Cuba.

Tickets for the graduation performance are on sale at the theater boxoffice for 80 pesos general admission.
